If you wish to use our music for live events, tv-commercials, documentaries,
home videos, compilation cd, remix albums etc. - please read on. Next to the
masters, which we control for most of the albums in our catalog, we do control
80% of the compositions in our catalog as well.
In any case applies the following: if you are not 100% sure in which category
your license fits, contact
us.
We distinct 3 kinds of usages:
1. Personal, non-commercial usage
You wish to make your home video more attractive by adding some music? Or give
your portfolio website some nice background music? A great idea! As long as your
content doesn't deal with or refers to any political or religious subject, you
will get permission to use the recordings. As long as there is no budget and
there is no commercial activity in any way related to your content, we will not
charge anything. Go ahead - and send us the link when you think it worked out
really well. Just be sure you get permission from the composer(s) as well. Not
sure? Contact us.
2. Semi-commercial usage
Think young filmmakers, think people starting up a business, think educational
materials.
Email us your detailed plan, including any information you wish to share.
Include exactly which music, duration and what exactly you seek permission for.
Don't hold back. We're reasonable people and we love to see our music used by
others. We issue licenses to young filmmakers for festival usage quite often.
3. Full commercial usage
This in fact applies to all not covered in the non- or semi-commercial licenses.
Think cinema, sports-events, tv-commercials, company materials.
For synchronisation licenses:
We will need your detailed license request, but if you operate in this playing
field, you most likely know the drill.
However, just to be sure and avoid any delays: provide at least the following
information:
Music title(s)
Duration(s)
Media
Territories
Term
If you have a fixed music budget, feel free to include that as well.
For sample usages in new recordings, send
us the following:
Music title(s)
Artist requesting sample usage
Number of mixes you want covered
Detailed description of how the sample is used
The song including the sample
Disclaimer:
Securing music rights is always your own responsibility. When it comes to
content owned by Basta Music or her licensees, we're very flexible with regards
to non-commercial usage. We recommend however that you always
check with us. Better be safe, we think.
